06 Nov 2008 : Baby Joy for Andrew!
A big congratulations goes out to Andrew Griffin and his girlfriend Kayleigh Ford on the birth of a new baby boy. The happy couple have named the new arrival Shayne Royston Griffin. A night out to wet the baby's head has been arranged for the 29th November at the Biz. 6 o clock kick off!
10 Oct 2008 : Francis and Hurton make it a double swoop at the awards!
Gwyn Francis and Gareth Hurton made it a night to remember as both picked up batsman of the year and player of the year for the 1st and 2nds respectively. Gwyn's consistency through out the season and his 115 n.o. against Pontllanfraith was a big factor in him picking up the award. The same has to be said with Gareth also. Commanding performance with the bat saw the seconds only just miss out on promotion.
Jonno Edwards picked up 1st team bowler while Phillip Thomas scooped the award for the 2nds.
Young Player of the Year went to Ben Griffiths. His skill and leadership with the bat shows why it won't be long before he's a regular in the first team.
The Ray Davies Memorial Award was presented to Gareth Edwards for his efforts on and off the field. His hard work in arranging the tour and his and his constant work rate behind the scenes ensures the club keeps going from strength to strength.
On a lighter note, this years champagne moment went to Liam Jones for his one handed diving catch against Dinas Powys while the prestigious Most Ducks award was presented to Adam Bowen.
A big thank you must also go out to Gareth Francis who done a superb job as MC on the night, Kath and Sharon for all the food throughout the season and everyone at the Biz for their continued hospitality.
