Monthly Meetings

Please see below details of forthcoming and previous monthly meetings.


NEXT MEETING - THURSDAY 15TH APRIL, 8 PM - THE BIZ 


Wednesday 17th March 


1. The selection policy was reviewed briefly and those in attendance agreed that the Captains will make the decision as to who will play in the respective sides and all were encouraged to support them with this difficult job. If players themselves feel that they have been doing well enough in the 2nds to play for the 1sts or if someone has been dropped from the 1sts and feel unhappy with this, they are to approach the Players Rep - Gareth Edwards.

2. Midweek Cricket was not discussed as Gareth Francis was unable to attend due to illness. Possible fixture to consider would be against The Greenfield Pub.

3. Friendly matches have already been arranged with Porth and Cross Keys. Another could be possibly arranged with Hopkinstown – to be decided.

4. The use of the outdoor nets would be discussed at the next meeting – it was decided that anyone who wanted to make use of the facility would be charged £10 per hour.

5. Guess the Score and other fund raising activities – Antony Bowen will feedback during next meeting

6. Liam Jones agreed to become the Club’s Child Welfare Officer.

7. Anthony Bowen was asked to arrange practice sessions at local Sports Centre during April – been arranged for 4th, 11th and 18th – 12.30pm – 2.30pm.

8. Community Day 9th May – The local police have been in touch with regards this event. They will be inviting us to meetings and keeping us updated of planned itinerary. It may be an opportunity to provide coaching to youngsters the same day and attract new players and supporters – to be decided. G Edwards to keep Club updated. No further information has been received.

9. Antony Bowen requested more help and support from members at the Junior net sessions. He would send a text to all and feedback response at next meeting

10. Barry John has recently gone into hospital and a get well card was to be sent.

11. Gareth Hurton will arrange for Team photos to be done in the near future





Wednesday 26th Febuary


1. The selection policy of the club was discussed with almost everyone contributing something to the debate. A number of suggestions were made and these were taken on board by both 1st and 2nd team captains. They will make the decision as to who will play in the respective sides and all were encouraged to support them with this difficult job. If players themselves feel that they have been doing well enough in the 2nds to play for the 1sts or if someone has been dropped from the 1sts and feel unhappy with this, they are to approach the Players Rep - Gareth Edwards. The Captains will have a difficult job again with this – please support them at all times. This statement will be reviewed briefly at the next meeting in order to eliminate discussion and comments throughout the forthcoming season.

4. The outdoor nets have now been completed and will be used when weather is better and when area around the nets have settled and been completed. Anthony Bowen has approached Steve Watkin about the official opening of these and he will also get something in the local press. Approx 7 keys will be cut for responsible persons. Insurance to be paid and it was decided to pay for cover up to £5000.

5. Guess the Score - £476 was raised with no winner. The prize would be increased to £100 for the next one – Wales v Italy. Anthony Bowen to put something in local paper with regards this.

6. Contributions were confirmed – the only change to previous was that Students and Unemployed would pay £20 contributions annually.

7. Child Welfare Officer to be elected prior to season.

8. It was decided that we should enter the Lord’s Sunday Cup – G Edwards to apply.
